There’s no denying the blog has been lagging lately. Not that there hasn’t been alot going on. I think I’m in some tech transition stage - learning some new tricks, but mostly trying to figure out what kind of relationship I want with the internets. I’ve come to the conclusion that Facebook is eating my life, and you know it’s terminal when you start idly googling ‘why quit Facebook’ and (mime slow-dawning horror) ‘how to quit Facebook’.
So, I have a web-site now. I am very proud of it. Here it is. Go!
This is what it looks like.

I also joined twitter, but I have yet to make a tweet… because why? FIRST I MUST NEEDS DECIDE ON A BACKGROUND PHOTO!!
Salamander?

This was at an aquarium in Tokyo a couple of years ago. I stood there mooning over the little creatures for about half an hour.
Including the blog, all this is part of the Facebook exit plan. (Well, the salamander is not part of the plan, but it does not hurt either)
Exit plan?! How the fuck did it come to this? For the record, I think FB is useful sometimes and fun sometimes - right this moment for example, I’m on it commenting back and forth with Han about being a nerd and reading Ursula Le Guin, but I’m finding it harder and harder to find the information and interaction I want amidst the useless noise invading my feed.
Anyway, fuck my FB blues, but most of all, fuck blogging about it and making you read about them.
l proposed to Zedeck that I would attempt a blog everyday for the next month or so. Failure is almost certain. But this is ok.
In funny a way, the house has been a companion while Zedeck’s been away (he’s off being a Writer at Rimbun Dahan for 3 months). It’s a great house, good for being alone in, and I suspect also good for having people in. Plans are underway for A Party, so we we’ll know soon enough.
Evenings are the best time…

I made a compost bin! Who knew rotting matter could give so much satisfaction? I turned it the other day and saw my first big worm in there. It was white and fat and wriggling. I mean, I’m a city girl through and through; I’m not crazy about bugs, but I was like, fuck yes! A worm!

He seemed at home. I hope he stays.
